Self-Love


What is self-love? It is the basic emotional connection and care, loyalty, and approval of yourself before any evaluation based on achievements and success. Self-love comes before self-esteem, which is based on how you value yourself, and self-confidence; how confident you are that you will perform well. This dependency on other people’s approval is dangerous for business. Instead of making sound, independent judgments, there is an abundant tendency to rely on what everybody else thinks and does.

Self-love comes before self-esteem and self-confidence.

Self-love also means taking care of yourself, emotionally, physically and spiritually. While there’s no one answer due to each of us being different, there are few people who can survive the rigors of weekly airplane rides, hotels most nights, late night eating and drinking and lack of sleep and still be great business leaders.

Being healthy at all levels is key to business leadership. Committing to eating healthily, sleep, exercise and sometimes take a walk outside not only makes you feel better, but it is also essential for everyone who surrounds you as well. Your team wants a motivated, energetic leader who is self-aware and authentic. You can’t get there without making YOU a priority.
